I study computer science at Valparaiso University and run Division I cross country and track. I like building things people can open in a browser and use right away.

Projects

Wave

3D audio visualizer

A rippling surface that reacts to music in real time, inspired by the PlayStation 3's music visualizer. Each frame I run an FFT on the audio, split it into bass, mids and treble, and use those bands to shape the mesh, detect beats and drive the bloom lighting. It plays a demo track generated in the browser, your own files, Spotify or the microphone.

Three.js, Web Audio API, Spotify Web Playback SDK, OAuth 2.0 with PKCE, Cloudflare Workers

Firstwords setup screen with a role field and a Start practice button

Firstwords

AI interview practice

Pick a role and get three realistic interview questions, then specific feedback on each answer. The browser never touches the API key: a serverless function builds the prompts, caps every input and rate-limits each visitor, so the endpoint can't be used as a free proxy.

JavaScript, Netlify Functions (Node.js), Anthropic API

  1. v0.1 Open and save images, menu bar
  2. v0.2 Drawing, colors, line width, PNG/JPG/BMP
  3. v0.3 Tabs, seven more tools, keyboard shortcuts
  4. v0.4 Undo/redo, select and move, text, polygons

Paint

Java desktop image editor, in progress

My CS 250 term project, built one sprint at a time with a tagged release and notes for each. Undo and redo use two stacks of canvas snapshots per tab, and every shape, selection and text placement previews live while you drag, then lands as a single undo step.

Java, JavaFX, Maven, Git

About

Camden Goddard

I'm from Gahanna, Ohio, and I'm a sophomore at Valparaiso University working toward a B.S. in Computer Science (May 2029). I've taken Algorithms & Abstract Data, Object-Oriented Programming, Discrete Mathematics and AI Fundamentals.

Most weeks I run up to 80 miles with Valpo's cross country and track team, and I was captain of my high school cross country team. Training like that has taught me to plan my time and keep showing up, which is how I approach projects too.

I'm looking for a software engineering internship for summer 2027.
